What data we collect
None. Overlay Notes does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, browsing history, page content, or analytics.
What is stored, and where
The sketch notes you draw are saved locally on your own device, in
your browser's IndexedDB storage, keyed by the page URL. This data never leaves your
computer, is not sent to us or any third party, and is used only to redisplay your own
notes when you revisit a page. Small settings may be kept in
chrome.storage.local, also only on your device.
Permissions
activeTab — used only to toggle the overlay on the tab you act on.
Access to pages you annotate — required so the drawing canvas can appear
over the page you choose. The extension reads no page content and sends nothing off-device.
Deleting your data
Use "Clear page notes" in the extension popup to delete notes for the current page, or clear the extension's site data via Chrome to remove all stored notes.
